 Janet Mock is a writer, television host, director, and transgender rights activist. Some of her accomplishments include:


Writing the bestselling memoir "Redefining Realness: My Path to Womanhood, Identity, Love & So Much More" in 2014, which chronicled her experiences growing up as a transgender woman.

Serving as a writer and producer on the FX television series "Pose," which explores the ballroom culture of New York City in the 1980s and 1990s and features the largest cast of transgender actors in television history.

Becoming the first openly transgender woman of color to be hired as a staff writer on a television series, when she joined the staff of "Pose."

Speaking publicly about her experiences as a transgender woman and advocating for the rights of the transgender community, including speaking at the Women's March on Washington in 2017.

Being named one of Time magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World" in 2018, and being included in Out magazine's "Power 50" list in 2013, 2014, and 2015
